I was a huge fan of him. I had magnetic tapes of Thriller, Dangerous and Bad. I'd listen to the track Bad on loop, not exactly on loop because I'd have to rewind and play again. I wore my boombox out with his tapes to a degree that the front cover which holds the tape in place fell apart. So each time, I'd rewind and stop to play, the tape would fly at me like a missile. After a couple of mishaps, I mastered the act of catching the tape before it hit my face.
This is not about my boombox. This is about the icon I grew up listening to, my gateway into Western music. I cannot get over songs such as Beat It, Smooth Criminal, Thriller... it is an endless list indeed.
The King certainly brings back happy moments in my life. I used to be a fan back in the day regardless of his controversial life.

Hmm.. He indeed led a very controversial life, and I also stand by the statement that you like an artist for the art, not his life.
May be because I didnt really listen to any of his songs(Yeah, its like I was not even born in this generation! :)), that I am not feeling this bad!
Amen.
MJ's a cult. But just you wait. He'll have more fans after his death. Just like Heath Ledger. Some dumbfucks just want to join the supposed bandwagon.
was thinking of buying his concert tickets from black
I could never see an old MJ at 80 anyway.
Awwww MJ did get us all nostalgic, didnt he? We all have songs that remind us of different phases in life.. His represented childhood.
Ye alag baat hai ki I never liked him back then. But I sure recognized his 'weird' (so I thought) voice.
Ms. Taggart:
Yeah, like I said earlier, you were born in the medieval age.
Det-res:
"Amen" is actually a song by Sepultura. Not MJ.
S:
Who cares about what they think and do? If anyone says he's never been a fan of MJ, he's lying.
Vaudevillian:
I used to be a fan, not anymore. So, I wouldn't have bought those tickets anyway.
Ann Dee:
Mera Hindi bohot accha hai. Tumhara Hindi bakwaas hai. Aap kya bol rahe ho, samajh nahi aa raha hai.
Corrected sentence, rat lo:
"Meri (not Mera) Hindi bohut achi (not acha) hai".
"Hindi" is streeling, if you know what that means.
Aur mujhe bolne aaya hai..Tch Tch
I guess sarcasm is not your forte, in English or Hindi. Muhahaha.
So you are the I-m-never-wrong types eh?
Bad Hindi, thrown outta college, a genetic make-up resembling Orangutans..... Nehi nehi aap ke baarey meh nehi bol rahi hoon. Sarcasm aint my forte. :)
Hahahaha. I'm glad you nailed my personality except that I belong to I'm-always-wrong type.
Wow that confession solves so many problems for the two of us (Ms. T & me) Mr. I-m-always-wrong!
Thanks for small mercies...
Hmm. I don't think I ever got interested in his music. While growing up, I knew he's big out there - but somehow he never appealed to me. Which is why perhaps all these updates about the controversy about his death are pissing me off now. Not forgetting all that media wants is some story to follow endlessly.
V - U are from the Medieval ages, you know why! :P
Ann Dee - He didnt get thrown out of college.. Press him for more details! :)
College?
[Ann Dee holds V at gun point..hands tied, mouth gagged]
Rohit:
Yeah, I couldn't stand news about him anymore.
Ms. T:
Huh?
Ann Dee:
[muffled answer because he is gagged]

Please go find some brains.
One needs brains to see that I got brains. Want to borrow some?
Yeah, sure. Coming from a self-proclaimed 'blonde', it makes a lot of sense.
Requires lotta brains even to maintain that blonde image, when it doesnt cm naturally..you knw :P
Uh-huh. Sure, if you say so.
