It's been six long years. I miss everything back home. Topping the list is the immediate access to vital newsbreaks about Bollywood that would appear on the ticker of any TV channel. But to serve as a gratifying consolation, the Internet has helped a great deal in overcoming this sense of isolation.
Nitish found a groundbreaking news article on Shahrukh Khan a couple of days ago and in his post, he didn't leave any stone unturned in congratulating the king of Bollywood on his achievements. What followed was a long exchange of comments that brought various aspects of King Khan to surface which in due course led to reminiscing some of his memorable quotes. It was an intense discussion that left us both in tears at the end of the day. SRK, if I may, is an epitome of emotion.
In my search for more news about the greatest actor Bollywood has ever seen, I stumbled on this interesting article citing the never-ending battle between King Khan and once his best friend, now a nemesis, Salman Khan.
Here's an excerpt from the article:
"The macho man of Bollywood Salman Khan said that he is fed up of giving his grudges with Shahrukh Khan a "National Issue". He also said that he doesn't talk to King Khan but why it has been hyped as a national issue."
I am left shell-shocked by these unfolding events. In my opinion, it is an issue that demands national attention when Salman Khan "doesn't talk to" King Khan. The article suggests the cause for such a terrible misunderstanding could be traced to Salman Khan being "falsely" accused of being in a relationship with Katrina Kaif. The reporter doesn't disclose anything else about it because it's classified information. But Salman Khan's reaction reveals the true story.
"Friendship is a beautiful relation which is always with you when you are in any kind problem and a friend is a person who could save you from other stresses of the life too."
As any noble person would agree, the keyword in his statement is "other". What are friends of the opposite sex for if they cannot alleviate stress caused by "other" reasons?
Needless to say, this article fired up a storm across the nation. The sole comment on the article by someone named 'Katrin' (whose name is strinkingly similar to the name of the actress) speaks for itself.
"Sorry, Salman Khan but Shahrukh Khan is a National Hero, he is Mother India. And the world wants to know everything about him and it makes SRKs Fans very sad when anybody hurt him."
I'm really amazed at the honors Shahrukh Khan has been receiving lately. To name a few, the well-deserved black belt and now, the title of 'Mother India' conferred to him by none other than a die hard fan, so it's valid and true.
In my conclusion, I'd like to say that empirical evidence substantiated by public opinion points to SRK being the reigning king of Bollywood or should I say queen, in accordance with the recent title he received. Also, I'd like to honestly thank Nitish for bringing Bollywood back into my list of interests.

Salman and Shah Rukh have lost their thrones and kingdom to Kamal R Khan.
I guess I have been following the lunar calendar for all these years as well. I have never heard of Kamal Khan.
I can't believe you misspelled SRK's name. Shame on you.
Sigh
Whatever happened to internet being your gateway to the hindi film world?
It's a shame that someone hasnt heard about Kamaal R Khan (or KRK as he likes to call himself) and Deshdrohi. Perhaps a little bit of Googling will help?
I consider it shameful to call someone a traitor without tangible evidence. You are making a serious allegation.
Err.
Google, perhaps? :D Might help you get over your ignorance!! :D
Thank you. May I recommend the same to you? Try looking for "sarcasm" and don't let me know what you find.
You call that sarcasm?!
HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
There is no reason to mask your embarrasment with a boisterous laugh. It's okay. We've all been there.
:p
perhaps you're losing your touch over sarcasm! :D
anyway, hope you have a good day! :D
God help me.
I read through that Indian Express
report in which Sallu made his statement. You made a glaring omission: he also said that "a friend in need is a friend indeed." Tear shed successfully.
Sorry for the spam.
Oh my God did I just have a revelation. The name for our spinoff band just unfolded before me: De Khan Chroniclers.
You got me.
"a friend in need is a friend indeed."
Now, that explains everything. I misjudged him.
I like the name. It's better than +91 Renegades. They owe us for this publicity.
Album Title: National Issue. What do you think?
How about "National Issue?"
We have to account for Sallu's valid doubt.
How about "National Treasure"?
If you recall, we have a Sallu in Hollywood too. We could have both their pictures on the album and make a true dedication to John Woo as well.
I think this is a going to be a big hit.
Who is the Hollywood Sallu? Nicolas Cage?
If you drew a quick comparison of them:
1. Both can't keep their shirts on.
2. Both have exceptional acting skills.
3. Both land great roles.
4. Both have an expression that indicates they have gastro problems.
Would you agree?
Hmm...Agreed that Cage has the emotional flexibility of a Botox-laden socialite. But I would also throw Vin Diesel into the mix.
Sure, I especially like his phony baritone. If three is what it takes, we'll throw him in too.
A must watch: Next. Cage is phenomenal in the movie. I liked the scene when he saves Moore from a log of wood and it all happens in extreme slow-mo. Cage's hair during the entire scene doesn't move an inch.
It obviously wasn't a hair-raising experience.
More like hell-raising.
Well..
I like salman khan.. not those lame movies, but he's pretty entertaining on shows!
I'm sure.
came here from Idling's blog because of hte word "unaccomplishments." looks like youre not that unaccomplished.
you remind me of my cousin brother. and shah rukh is just a vayatherichul.
Thanks for stopping by.
It depends on what you'd consider as an accomplishment. :)
What about me reminds you of your cousin?
Did you know my neighbour's SON has a bag with SRK's photo on it?
Anyway, fans are just the best ever. In my earlier office, there was this girl who thought SRK would be the best to pla Gandhi next.
Then there was one who thought Salman Khan is just jealous and maybe SRK will one day forgive him. He has godly powers after all.
@V
the down-playing bit, i believe. :)
